About this Event
Active in more than 30 countries, the PHSSR and its partners seek to work with local academics, governments, policymakers and other stakeholders to build knowledge and guide action through research reports that offer evidence-informed policy recommendations for healthcare system reform.
Even before the pandemic, many health systems around the world were struggling to control budget spending and meet the growing demand for healthcare caused by ageing populations, increasing burden of chronic disease, workforce shortages and other issues. The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated these problems and posed unique challenges to health systems around the globe.
If we seek to identify potential solutions to improve health systems' sustainability and resilience, it is the PHSSR’s conviction that it is essential to understand their strengths and weaknesses.
The study examined the health system against seven domain areas including governance, financing, workforce, medicines and technologies, service delivery, population health and environmental sustainability.
